Nudo — a pet cared for by two people, each from their own phone.

Thanks for using Nudo. These terms explain, in plain language, what you can expect from the app and what's expected of you when using it. By installing or using Nudo, you agree to these terms.

What Nudo is

Nudo is an iOS app where two people pair their phones with a code to care together for a virtual pet, leave each other short messages, answer a question of the day, and play minigames. It doesn't require creating an account with an email or password, has no ads, and offers no in-app purchases.

Who offers it

Nudo is developed and offered independently by Juan Cornejo, in Mexico. In these terms, "we" refers to Nudo's developer, and "you" or "the user" refers to whoever installs or uses the app.

Your content

The messages, the answers to the question of the day, and the drawings you write or create inside Nudo are yours: we claim no ownership over them. You, not us, are responsible for what you write or draw and send to the other person in your nudo.

Acceptable use

Nudo exists so two people who know each other can keep a close presence in one another's lives. By using it, you agree not to:

Zero tolerance for abuse

Nudo has zero tolerance for abusive content and behavior. This includes, without limitation: harassment, threats, intimidation, discriminatory language, impersonation, and any content that exploits or endangers a minor.

Nudo filters text automatically before it leaves your phone: messages, answers to the daily question and the name you give your pet all pass through an offensive-content filter, and whatever fails it is never sent. Beyond that filter, Nudo is a private conversation between two people and not a public space: we do not read the content of messages.

The app gives you two controls. Report appears on the message you just received, right next to the content you want to flag. Block lives on the nudo screen: it cuts the link and stops that person from pairing with you again. You can also write to juanmanuelchio12@gmail.com with as much detail as possible; we act on every report as promptly as we can. On a substantiated report we may delete the nudo involved and block the reported person, without prior notice and without needing your additional consent.

The service "as is"

Nudo is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties that the app will work without interruption, without errors, or that it will be available at all times. As an independent project, there may be maintenance periods, sync failures or data loss, and we make reasonable efforts to avoid them without being able to guarantee it.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we won't be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use Nudo, including the loss of messages, pet progress, or any other content. Nor are we responsible for content another user sends you through the app: that responsibility belongs to whoever wrote it.

Changes and termination of service

We may modify, suspend or shut down Nudo, in whole or in part, at any time, with or without prior notice. We may also update these terms; if we do, we'll change the date below. We may suspend or remove access for any user who breaches these terms, in particular the zero-tolerance section.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Mexican States. Any dispute arising from their interpretation or performance will be submitted to the competent courts of Mexico, unless the law applicable in your jurisdiction mandatorily provides otherwise.
